Dr. Laurent Bannock is a consultant nutritionist based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is a world-renowned specialist in sport and exercise nutrition. Laurent has over 20 years' experience working in private practice and elite sport.
His work focusses on supporting individual health and fitness goals, from weight management to elite sports performance. Laurent is also the founder and CEO of The Institute of Performance Nutrition (“The IOPN”), based in Edinburgh, Scotland, which specialises in the training and development of professional sport and exercise nutritionists.
Rodrigo Abreu & Associados/Portugal FA
Rodrigo Abreu has been a sports nutritionist since 2002, when he started working in a Portuguese first league club. Since 2015, he has been responsible for meals and nutrition strategies of all Portuguese soccer teams (male and female, including futsal and beach soccer). He is currently finishing his PhD in clinical nutrition, with research projects regarding nutritional support in football.
António Pedro Mendes is the head of nutrition for Sporting Clube de Portugal. He has previously worked for clubs such as FC Porto and Al Nassr FC (Saudi Arabia). He is the co-founder of Nutriens Academy, an education company focussed on teaching nutrition at the highest level. He is a frequent speaker at scientific events, with several contributions for scientific articles and international book chapters.
Jordan is the Director of Performance and Sports Science for the University of Oregon. In this role he oversees the execution of student athlete support services focused on sports science, strength and conditioning, nutrition and recovery. Prior to Oregon, Jordan has worked in similar roles with the Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL and the NSW Waratahs (Sydney, Australia) of Super Rugby. Jordan completed his PhD through the University of Technology Sydney with a research interest in monitoring neuromuscular fatigue in rugby union players.
Nyree is the Sports Nutritionist for the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL), the Philadelphia Union (MLS), USA Field Hockey, USA Squash, as well as Team USA at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea, 2015, and Taipei, Taiwan, 2017, and the 2019 Pan American Games (Lima, Peru).
Nyree is an assistant clinical professor and Director of the Center for Nutrition & Performance (CNP) in the department of nutrition sciences at Drexel University. A board-certified specialist in sports dietetics, her research projects focus on collegiate and professional athlete knowledge and behavior change, resting metabolic rate, and nutrition-centered workplace wellness programs. Her most recent book chapter addresses sex and gender differences in sports nutrition.
Nyree developed the formulation of Dragon Gels™, an in-sport fuel used exclusively by the teams she supports. Dragon Gels™ are produced, packaged, and distributed through the metabolic kitchen at Drexel University.
Cristian has been a performance nutritionist for the ACF Fiorentina soccer team since September 2015. He started working with FIGC – the Italy national team – with the selection U21-U20 in January 2017. In January 2018, he became an honorary member of the European Sport Nutrition Society. From March 2018 to July 2021, Cristian was a scientific advisor for Italy to Gatorade Sport Science Institute – GSSI.
Leron Sarig is the director of performance nutrition for the San Francisco Giants. She previously consulted for the Giants with their minor league system in 2018 before taking a full-time position with the organisation at the start of the 2019 season. Prior to her position with the Giants, she spent five and a half years as a performance dietitian at EXOS, where she worked primarily with military special operations and assisted with preparing NFL prospects for the NFL combine. Leron has also consulted for the Arizona Coyotes (NHL) and assisted with nutrition integration for the Argentinian National Rugby Team during their preseason training camps in the United States. She also teaches online introductory nutrition courses on a part-time basis for Pensacola State College. Leron obtained her sports nutrition master’s degree from Florida State University and currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Robert is a medical specialist in physical and rehabilitative medicine. He also holds a master's degree in micronutrient therapy and regulatory medicine. He has been head of the medical department for RB Leipzig since 2018. His holistic treatment spectrum includes conservative orthopedical, functional sports medical, and orthomolecular as well as TCM and osteopathic approaches. As co-founder of the Institute for Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, he was previously responsible for professionalising sports medicine care for the HSV Youth Academy from 2012-2018.
With a passion for the importance of movement and activity, Dr. Naomi Albertson, M.D., has dedicated her career in sports medicine to assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and motivating her patients through recovery.Whether working with children, older adults, or professional athletes, her goal is clear: to get each patient back to the activities they love, safely and injury free. Naomi is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, fellowship trained in sports medicine at Stanford University, and is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to orthopaedic and sports-related injuries, she specialises in assessment and management of concussion, osteoarthritis, osteopenia, osteoporosis, stress fractures, and nutritional issues associated with healing. She is also the developer of Dr. Ni’s OC2, a frame support supplement designed to keep bones healthy and muscles strong with age.
Matt Jones is a sports nutritionist currently consulting in the English Premier League with West Ham United FC, in the Women’s Super League with Chelsea FC Women and with the Men’s Scottish National Team. Matt has over 10 years of applied sports nutrition experience and has worked on 4 continents in support of elite professionals, special forces military personnel and NCAA Division I collegiate athletes. Matt’s overarching philosophy is ‘simple, meaningful and with purpose’, he has the unique ability to simplify complex nutrition science and deliver it in an easy to understand, often entertaining manner, to enhance performance and recovery, adaptations, health and body composition of the individuals he works with.
A board-certified specialist in sports dietetics and co-founder of A4 Health, Jenna focuses her work in sports performance on integrating biology, nutritional sciences, and behaviour change to maximise athlete potential.
A University of Minnesota grad with a bachelor of science degree in genetics and cell biology, and a minor in leadership, Jenna went on to obtain her master’s degree in clinical nutrition with an emphasis on sports nutrition from Ohio State University. During her graduate studies, she worked under the director of sports nutrition to consult with collegiate and recreational runners on enhancing iron absorption through food and improving bone health through nutritional strategising. Additionally, she worked in the medical center on pharmacology research for muscular dystrophy, which broadened her knowledge base of how molecular compounds can directly impact muscle breakdown and repair.
She now serves as the director of performance nutrition for the Minnesota Wild hockey organisation and the director of nutrition for the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA team. She speaks nationally with sports medicine providers, orthopedic professionals, sports dietitians, coaches, parents, and athletes on the power of personalisation with food and the direct impact food can have on performance outcomes.
Callum is the Lead Performance Nutritionist for Lancashire Cricket Club (LCC) and Blackburn Rovers F.C. Additionally, he consults to private clients in North west England and provide guest lectures for Universities and clubs. Callum is also a SENr registrant as result of the fantastic MSc Sport Nutrition programme at LJMU, ran by Dr. Graeme Close and Dr. James Morton. He aims to publish future research on nutritional recommendations for cricketers, building performance nutrition education programmes within sport, pressures and perceptions of body composition requirements in football, and lastly, CPD programmes for performance nutrition chefs.
Mirko Holzmüller is marketing and sales manager in the sports and health nutrition markets at AlzChem Trostberg with a focus on Creapure® creatine in the regions of Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa, and Oceania. After his studies of economics with a focus on marketing and communication, he was the responsible marketing manager of a global operating German sporting good supplier. Since 2016, he has been working for AlzChem to reshape the brand Creapure®.
Dr. Jürgen Bezler leads the global human nutrition business at AlzChem with production sites in Germany and sales offices in Atlanta (USA) and Shanghai (China). Jürgen received his doctorate degree at the University Würzburg (Germany) in chemistry and biochemical studies and he also holds an MBA degree in general management from Henley Business School (UK).
Benjamin Bath joined Wacker Chemie in May 2016. A food engineer specialised in nutrition, Benjamin has been working in the nutrition business for 15 years. He has expert knowledge in the nutraceutical industry through experiences at innovative botanical suppliers and full-service food supplement toll manufacturers. Benjamin introduces CAVAQ10® and CAVACURMIN® – a powerful duo for boosting performance and recovery.
Sara graduated as a bio engineer in food technology and nutrition in 2009 at Ghent University. She obtained her doctoral degree in applied biological sciences in 2016 at Ghent University with an expertise in sensory analysis. During her PhD at the department of agricultural economics she gained extensive knowledge on business development and economics. She started her career at the Coca-Cola Company, where she worked as a sensory specialist EMEA and in R&D focussing on adult sparkling drinks. Since 2018, she has been at Rousselot as a product and business development manager to support the Rousselot business in northwest Europe. Since 2021, she has been focussing on the global business development of the Rousselot health and nutrition segment. In her role, she works together with existing and potential customers to find the perfect solution for new collagen-based launches.
Dr. David LeMay is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and also has a board certification in anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Additionally, he has completed a fellowship in metabolic and nutrition medicine.
David is a medical staff and performance consultant for multiple professional sports teams and professional boxers, including world champions. He is part of the Tignum Performance Science and Innovation Board and is the medical director for the breakfast club program through the NFL Players Association Trust and EXOS. He also is on the advisory board for Task Force Dagger Foundation's SOF Health Initiatives Program, SOF Missions, and Racing for Heroes. He also is a scientific spokesperson for Solutex Corporation.
