Dr. Julien Louis is reader in nutrition and exercise physiology at Liverpool John Moores University (Liverpool, UK). As part of his teaching and research duties, Julien is programme leader for the MSc in sport nutrition and supervises several PhD students in the UK and abroad. Julien is also an associate researcher at the French Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP, Paris), and member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Sport Science, Journal of Sport Sciences, Frontiers in Sports and Active Living, PlosOne, and Nutrients. Julien's research focuses on nutrition, training, and recovery strategies for optimising sport performance, with an emphasis on elite sport. Julien is also interested in the effects of ageing on sport performance with masters athletes at the centre of his research. In parallel to his academic roles, Julien regularly works as a consultant nutritionist in elite sport. He is the current performance nutritionist of the AG2R-Citroën professional cycling team, and previous appointments include Liverpool Football Club, Lille Football Club, the French Football Federation, and many Olympic sports.
Dr. Laurent Bannock is a consultant nutritionist based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is a world-renowned specialist in sport and exercise nutrition. Laurent has over 20 years' experience working in private practice and elite sport.
His work focusses on supporting individual health and fitness goals, from weight management to elite sports performance. Laurent is also the founder and CEO of The Institute of Performance Nutrition (“The IOPN”), based in Edinburgh, Scotland, which specialises in the training and development of professional sport and exercise nutritionists.
David Dunne has spent the last 10 years working across a range of professional and Olympic sports in the UK, Europe, and USA. More recently he has pursued a PhD in behaviour change and technology in nutrition and co-founded a performance tech startup called Hexis with his colleagues.
Leron Sarig is the director of performance nutrition for the San Francisco Giants. She previously consulted for the Giants with their minor league system in 2018 before taking a full-time position with the organisation at the start of the 2019 season. Prior to her position with the Giants, she spent five and a half years as a performance dietitian at EXOS, where she worked primarily with military special operations and assisted with preparing NFL prospects for the NFL combine. Leron has also consulted for the Arizona Coyotes (NHL) and assisted with nutrition integration for the Argentinian National Rugby Team during their preseason training camps in the United States. She also teaches online introductory nutrition courses on a part-time basis for Pensacola State College. Leron obtained her sports nutrition master’s degree from Florida State University and currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
António Pedro Mendes is a sports nutritionist from Portugal, currently working as the Head of Nutrition at Sporting Clube de Portugal, with previous experiences at Futebol Clube de Paços de Ferreira and Futebol Clube do Porto. He is also the Head of Sports Nutrition at Clínica do Dragão, Espregueira-Mendes Sports Centre – FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, supporting world-class athletes, from combat sports to different gymnastic categories. He recently founded Nutriens Academy, a company dedicated to teaching nutrition to health and sports professionals.
Gonçalo Abreu Fernandes has been a nutritionist since 2017 and a performance nutritionist since 2018, when he joined Sport Lisboa e Benfica club. Initially he worked as a performance nutritionist in male professional team sports, namely futsal and roller hockey and soon after he joined the youth football department of the club as a performance nutritionist. He also has some experience of performance nutrition within the first team setup in the club.
With a passion about the importance of movement and activity, Dr. Naomi Albertson, M.D. has dedicated her career in sports medicine assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and motivating her patients through recovery. Whether working with children, older adults, or professional athletes, her goal is clear: to get each patient back to the activities they love, safely and injury free.
Dr. Albertson is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, fellowship trained in sports medicine at Stanford University, and is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to orthopedic and sports-related injuries, she specializes in assessment and management of concussion, osteoarthritis, osteopenia, osteoporosis, stress fractures and nutritional issues associated with healing.
Dr. Albertson is also the developer of Dr. Ni’s OC2, a frame support supplement designed to keep bones healthy and muscles strong with age.
Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Jürgen Vormann studied nutritional sciences at the University Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany, where he also earned his doctorate in pharmacology and toxicology of nutrition. He achieved the qualification of the "habilitation" for biochemistry at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Benjamin Franklin University Clinics, Free University Berlin, where he had the position of an extraordinary professor. His main work areas include biochemistry and pathophysiology of pharmacologically active food ingredients, magnesium transport, and acid-base-metabolism. He has produced more than 270 publications in scientific journals, monographs, and textbooks. Jürgen is head of the Institute for Prevention and Nutrition (IPEV) in Ismaning/Munich, Germany. The Institute supervises clinical trials, develops teaching materials, and consults with various pharmaceutical companies in the development of specific supplements within the area of nutritional medicine. Among other achievements, he was president of the German Society for Magnesium-Research and chairman of the Gordon Research Conference “Magnesium in Biochemical Processes and Medicine” (Ventura, USA), he organised and chaired the 3rd International Acid-Base-Symposium (Smolenice, Slovakia), and he's on the advisory boards of various nutritional organisations.
Callum is the Lead Performance Nutritionist for Lancashire Cricket Club (LCC) and Blackburn Rovers F.C. Additionally, he consults to private clients in North west England and provide guest lectures for Universities and clubs. Callum is also a SENr registrant as result of the fantastic MSc Sport Nutrition programme at LJMU, ran by Dr. Graeme Close and Dr. James Morton. He aims to publish future research on nutritional recommendations for cricketers, building performance nutrition education programmes within sport, pressures and perceptions of body composition requirements in football, and lastly, CPD programmes for performance nutrition chefs.
Lou Antonio Matera is an entrepreneur and lifestyle design promoter. A former academy strength and conditioning coach for Newcastle United FC, he has a BSc with honors in applied sports and exercise science, including exercise physiology and sports nutrition.
Emmy Campbell is a SENR qualified sports nutritionist and an Afn accredited nutritionist from the United Kingdom. She currently works as a performance nutritionist for Everton Women FC to support the players' daily nutrition needs. As well as this, Emmy also has an abundance of experience working with youth athletes across various sporting backgrounds.
Romy Zengerink is currently working as a performance nutritionist with LIV Racing Xstra and has a consultancy role with different handball teams. She has a master’s degree in human movement sciences and followed the IOC diploma in sports nutrition to gain further specific knowledge in this field. Romy tries to combine scientific knowledge and her own experience as an athlete to support individuals in achieving their best performance.
Titia van der Stelt is a former head of nutrition of world tour cycling team Sunweb (Team DSM) and currently works for the Dutch Eredivisie football team FC Twente. She's a keen athlete herself, participating in the World Championships Hyrox and she has written two books about sports nutrition. Next to that, she has her own practice (Voedingconditie) where she guides several athletes. Her passion is to convey what good nutrition can do to an athlete and their results.
Sanne Kramer is a performance nutritionist and human movement scientist. She has experience working with athletes from various sports in her own dietician practice, with academy soccer players and convalescent soccer players. She is currently working at FC Utrecht (the Netherlands) where her main focus is with the U-23 team. She has completed a bachelor's in nutrition and dietetics and master's in human movement sciences with a specialisation in sports nutrition, where she researched the effect of a sleeping intervention on sleep and performance.
Miriam Krug is a former crossfit athlete who played soccer for over 16 years. She started NuByMi in 2019 and now there are six coaches helping athletes from different sports (crossfit, weightlifting, soccer, American football). Their highlights have been Max Lang, who won the 2021 European Championships in weightlifting, Anna Quost, who won the 2021 World Championships in functional fitness, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic athlete in canoeing Sarah Brüßler.
This season, the team will be responsible for the nutrition of the Berlin Thunder (American football, European League of Football) and HSC Coburg (handball second league).
Korey Van Wyk is currently an acquisitions editor for Human Kinetics, where he helps create educational products for coaches and trainers. Previous roles include community manager for art of coaching as well as a sports performance coach and professor of the practice of kinesiology at Northwestern College. He earned his master's degree in nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Central College.
Florencia Moreno holds an MSc in health food innovation management from Maastricht University. She used to be an independent consultant in the food nutrition area and worked at Innova Market Insights as a market analyst and insights and innovation manager. She specialises in the health and nutrition segment of Rousselot, helping to identify trends and market opportunities for Rousselot and its customers.
Reyhan holds a doctorate degree (PhD) in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Maastricht and master of science (MSc) in Food and Nutritional Sciences. She has been Principal Scientist, Associate Professor, and Head of the Research Laboratories at University for several years before attending to PB Leiner. Both in this academic environment, as well as in a hospital environment as a nutritionist and dietitian before that, she has built an extensive experience in human nutrition and scientific research.
